Nightshade Coffee Information

Nightshade Coffee brings an interesting coffee shop experience to 459 Broadway, Westwood, NJ 07675, United States. Located in the heart of a community where neighborhood businesses play an important role, this café offers a convenient destination for anyone looking to enjoy a coffee break, catch up with friends, or spend a little time away from a busy schedule. Its Broadway location makes it worth considering for both Westwood residents and visitors exploring the area.

When it comes to a good coffee shop, the drinks are naturally the main attraction. At Nightshade Coffee, the menu is an important starting point for understanding what the café has to offer. Coffee enthusiasts may want to look for espresso-based favorites such as lattes, cappuccinos, and Americanos, while those who prefer something refreshing can check for iced coffee or cold beverages. The current selection is worth confirming before visiting, especially for customers interested in seasonal specialties or alternative milk options. A well-prepared espresso should deliver a balanced flavor without excessive bitterness, while a good latte combines smooth milk texture with a noticeable coffee character.

Food can also make a big difference in the overall café experience. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, taking a midday break, or looking for a small snack alongside your drink, it's worth checking what Nightshade Coffee currently serves. Pastries, baked goods, and light breakfast items are common companions to specialty coffee, although specific food availability may vary. For anyone planning a longer visit, knowing the menu variety beforehand can help set realistic expectations.

Atmosphere is another important part of choosing a neighborhood coffee spot. Some customers enjoy a quiet setting where they can read or work, while others prefer a lively café filled with conversation. At Nightshade Coffee, details such as seating arrangements, lighting, music, and overall cleanliness are worth paying attention to. These little things often determine whether a place feels suitable for a quick takeaway order or a more relaxed visit.

Service matters just as much as the drinks themselves. Friendly baristas, clear explanations of beverage options, and efficient order preparation can turn an ordinary coffee run into a pleasant experience. Customer reviews can be particularly helpful when evaluating drink consistency, staff interactions, waiting times, and value for money. Reading several recent opinions rather than relying on a single rating usually provides a more balanced picture.

Nightshade Coffee's location on Broadway also adds to its neighborhood appeal. For people spending time in Westwood, having a local café nearby creates an opportunity to take a break between errands or meet someone for a casual conversation. Before heading over, checking the latest opening hours, available seating, and takeaway options can make the visit easier to plan.

What People's Say About Place

Really cozy gothic vibe and you can tell a lot of thought went into the menu items. To die for fresh scones and the baristas are so fast and kind even with a line out the door. They get busy! Highly recommend weekdays for a quiet work space. Weekends are for enjoying the atmosphere and catching up. The cashier explained they use a small family run farm to table roaster which is so nice to know compared to the big corporate brands that burn their coffee. The iced drinks are a perfect blend between unique fun flavors and that strong coffee kick I prefer. My friend is an espresso nerd and really loved their cortado. I am obsessed with their traditional cappuccinos and the iced nightshade latte. Street parking is iffy but that’s the town not the business. There’s a large parking lot right behind the strip of stores it’s on. They offer a loyalty program and they host fun monthly events after hours too! Such a great addition to the area and a favorite hang of ours for group meet ups. You could spend an hour or more just people watching and trying the small plates.

Amazing drinks and croissants. The raspberry danish iced latte is phenomenal!! It’s not too strong and not too sweet. Honestly just the perfect blend and the vanilla cream cheese cold foam is delicious. My favorite drink off the summer menu is the strawberry basil matcha. It is so refreshing and delicious. Great atmosphere as well!

by far the best coffee in westwood, great and quick service even during busy hours, friendly staff, and a wide variety of flavors to choose from including house made syrups! they also employ neurodivergent individuals and take pride in supporting local artists/vendors and they make a point to not work with any kind of AI artists. they hold events here and there that you can find on their instagram and the owners and staff themselves work together to create each seasonal menu too. they also have the most non dairy milk options i’ve come across as well as vegan cold foam available. the space itself is beautiful and covered in authentic antiques and vintage decor, it’s very clear a lot of love and effort has been put into creating this space and it’s an amazing addition to westwood coffee scene!

I absolutely loved this place so much. I’m so strict with coffee and the syrups that go in my drink and I have to say this was a 10/10. They use such high quality and house made syrups, have amazing specialty lattes and rly amazing coffee. Also such gorgeous merch. Totally recommend

Interesting coffee shop…gothic vibes, good drinks and great food. Tried the savory croissant sandwich with salami and Brie (the yule feast I think it’s called) and it was surprisingly good. Also had one of their pastries, forgot what it was called but it has a croissant feel with some caramelization going on, also really good. Tried one of their teas, the Xymox, which was bland and not worth it for me. The iced latte I tried, Majesty, however was delicious! Loved the cold foam and the cardamom. Service was ok, not friendly at all.

My friends are avid coffee lovers and on our latest hang out were dying to visit this spooky lil cafe. The vibes were immaculate, loved the decor and customer service. You can tell they really care about their craft. While I'm not coffee or tea girlie, the drink I was interested in was sold out (we went later into the day and they explained to provide the best goods they make smaller batches daily of certain goods) That said, the owner was kind enough to go above and beyond in trying to find something I could enjoy as well! It truly meant a lot because I am very much not a coffee/tea person as much as I wish I could be (outside looking in the coffee loving world looks like a fun cult yknow?) Their "Little Lad" berries and cream croissant was to DIE for. I will 1000% go back for that sweet treat! My friends also ordered sandwiches which they enjoyed and loved their caffienated elixirs! This café is absolutely worth the trip out to check out! If you're in the caffienated cult (lucky) you'll love this place! And even if you're in the FOMO side of it their food is amazing and you can still browse their drink menu you may just surprise yourself with a new fave treat!

There are only a few places where one who has always lived on the perimeter of societal norms feels at home and Nightshade Coffee is one of those places. The black walls adorned with gothic decor warmed my black heart. Staff was helpful and friendly, and they make outstanding coffee! The Cemetery Dusy and Deadly Nightshade did not disappoint. Flavorful and bold coffee drinks served ice cold. And the croissants were insanely large! The Little Lad was not so little, but a creamy delight that was enjoyed by your narrator. Fresh berries and delicious cream encased in a fluffy and fresh pastry. This place has to be one of NJ’s best coffee shops. The aesthetics alone are worth a visit, but the food and drink are the nails in the coffin! Can’t wait to go back.

Love this spot. I’ve had 3 different drinks off of their menu, hot and iced and enjoyed them all. They also have some awesome vegan pastry’s and chocolates on their menu and looking to add more. Currently a vegan breakfast bars, carrot muffins and some chocolates. They’ll make any of their drinks vegan and even make vegan cold foam!
